Ably offers two billing models: pay-per-minute (consumption-based) and pay-per-MAU. Consumption rates: messages at $2.50/million (as low as $0.50/M with volume discounts), connection minutes at $1.00/million (as low as $0.20/M), channel minutes at $1.00/million. Four tiers: Free ($0/month — 200 concurrent connections, 6M messages/month, 500 msg/sec); Standard ($29/month + usage — 10K connections, 10K channels, 2.5K msg/sec, 1-day email SLA); Pro ($399/month + usage — 50K connections, 50K channels, 10K msg/sec, Datadog lite, 4-hour email SLA); Enterprise (custom — unlimited capacity, 99.999% uptime SLA, 24×7 support, dedicated cluster, HIPAA BAA, SSO/SCIM, CNAME, committed-use discounts). Data transfer charged at $0.25/GiB across paid tiers. No credit card required for the free tier.
