Heroku uses a usage-based, tiered pricing model across compute (dynos), managed data services, and AI inference. Cedar dynos range from $5/month (Eco, sleeps on inactivity) and $7/month (Basic, always-on) to $25–$50/month (Standard), $250–$1,500/month (Performance), and $125–$1,800/month (Shield/Private variants). The new Fir (Kubernetes) dyno generation starts at $25/month and scales to $2,400/month for 32 vCPU/64 GB configurations; Fir dynos require Private Spaces. Heroku Postgres ranges from $5/month (Essential-0, 1 GB) to $34,000/month (Shield-10, 1 TB/8 TB). Heroku Key-Value Store (Redis) starts at $3/month (Mini). Apache Kafka on Heroku starts at $100/month. AI Managed Inference is priced per million tokens, starting at $0.06/1M input tokens for Amazon Nova Lite and ranging up to $5.50/1M output tokens for Claude Opus. Enterprise plans with Private Spaces, Shield, and custom SLAs are available via sales. No free tier exists; basic support is free for all paying customers.
